City of Independence issued the following announcement on Jan. 28.
In accordance with Senate File 634, please click on Additional Info to see the maximum levy notice for the City of Independence for Fiscal Year 2021 (July 1, 2020 - June 30, 2021). The notice must include the certified tax rate and requested tax dollars for certain specified levy rates for the current year. It must also include the rate and requested dollars as they would be for the budget year, if the requested tax dollars were not increased from what they are in the current year. The notice needs to also include the proposed budget year property tax rate and requested dollars.
It is important to note that this does not include all levies that make up the the final property tax levy for the City of Independence.
