Mayor to host ‘Together We Can’ Faith Breakfast in Celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Public and clergy invited to join faith leaders for a morning of encouragement and inspiration on January 20, 2020.
Mayor Hart is hosting the Together We Can’ Faith Breakfast in Celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The Faith Breakfast will be held Monday, January 20 from 8:00am to 10:00am at the Waterloo Center for the Arts, Waterloo. Comments will be made by Waterloo clergy for a variety of faith backgrounds. The keynote message will be given by Pastor Quovadis Marshall of Hope City Church.
Believe Waterloo, a fund established by Mayor Hart at the Waterloo Community Foundation, to support programs, initiatives, and groups which enhance and/or improve access, quality of life and create a better community for the residents of Waterloo will award its first grant to the Waterloo Youth City Council at the event.
“With a new decade before us, what better time to let Dr. King’s message of hope and unity inspire us to work together for the good of all,” says Mayor Hart. “I hope this will be a morning of encouragement and inspiration to those who encourage and inspire us each week.”
The event is sponsored in part by CUNA Mutual Group and the Believe Waterloo Fund.
