City of Waterloo issued the following announcement on Dec. 19.
The Riverside skate park suffered extensive damage in a flood and was left severely damaged. Funding from Black Hawk County Gaming will support the re-location of the park allowing it to be more sustainable, accessible and inclusive. The new park has been designed for use of sport wheelchairs and bikes in addition to skateboards. Plans are to construct the park using concrete and the new locations is in a flood-protected area.
