CITY OF CEDAR FALLS: Holiday Hours and Refuse Collection

City of Cedar Falls issued the following announcement on Dec. 17. 

In observation of the holidays, city departments will observe the following hours:

City Hall: Closed December 24, 25, and January 1.

Public Library: Closed December 24 and 25. Closing at 5:00 p.m. on December 31. Closed January 1.

Visitors Center: Closed December 24, 25, and January 1.

Recreation and Fitness Center: Closing at 4:00 p.m. on December 24. Closed December 25. Closing at 4:00 p.m. December 31. Closed January 1.

Hearst Center for the Arts: Closed December 23 - December 25. Closing at 5:00 p.m. on December 31. Closed January 1. 

Refuse Collection

City offices will be closed on Tuesday, December 24, 2019, and Wednesday, December 25, 2019. Residents having Tuesday, December 24, 2019, as their collection day should put their garbage out by 7:00 a.m. on Monday, December 23, 2019. Residents having Wednesday, December 25, 2019, as their collection day should put their garbage out by 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 26, 2019.

Large item pickup will resume on Friday, December 27, 2019.

City offices will be closed on Wednesday, January 1, 2020. Residents having Wednesday, January 1, 2020, as their collection day should put their garbage out by 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2020. 

As a reminder to residents, yard waste pick up on Mondays beginning December through the end of March 2020 will be done on a call-in basis. Please call 319-273-8629 to make arrangements for pickup.
