"With the support of Upper Iowa University Waterloo Center, Peoples Community Health Clinic, and The Pump Haus Pub & Grill, the Waterloo Bucks Summer Reading Program will be encouraging reading throughout the summer in the Cedar Valley.
In the last 4 years we have visited hundreds of elementary schools across Eastern Iowa to promote the importance of reading during the summer. Hitting the books during the summer break helps students improve their reading ability and makes the transition to the new school year a little easier.
Our reading program offers prizes and a fun baseball themed game within the program that encourages students to stick with reading, even if school is not in session. The Bucks devotion to improving the lives of those in the Cedar Valley is reflected in our reading program by focusing on education for the younger generations."
