Start of Construction Notice: Lake Street Trail Project

Beginning August 8, 2022, the contractor, Owen Contracting, will begin the Lake Street Trail Project. This project consists of constructing 3,176 lineal feet of a 10′ wide concrete recreational trail along the south side of Lake Street from Central Avenue to Big Woods Road. In order for Owen Contracting to begin, the contractor will have flaggers in the Southern lane to direct traffic as trucks come in and out of the construction area. The Southern lane will be affected intermittently for the duration of this project; however, traffic will be maintained in both lanes. During paving operations, flaggers will be present to direct traffic around the work zone.  Below, you will find a map with the affected area highlighted.

For safety’s sake, please stay away from the construction area. Heavy equipment will be moving back and forth on the closed street. If you want additional information about the Lake Street Trail Project, please visit the project webpage at https://www.cedarfalls.com/1698/Lake-Street-Trail-Project. If you want to receive road closure notices by e-mail and/or text message, visit www.cedarfalls.com/notify and follow the instructions for road construction as shown.
