Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds recently signed an extension to the Harvest Proclamation, according to a release from the governor’s office.
The proclamation relates to the weight limits as well as the transportation of grain and will be in effect through Sat. Jan. 29.
“The proclamation allows vehicles transporting corn, soybeans, hay, straw, silage and stover to be overweight (not exceeding 90,000 pounds gross weight) without a permit for the duration of this proclamation,” according to the release.
The proclamation will apply to all loads transported through highways within Iowa, excluding the interstate system; does not exceed more than 90,000 pounds in gross weight; does not exceed the maximum axle weight limit determined under the non-primary highway maximum gross weight table in section 321.463 (6)(b) of the Iowa Code by more than 12.5%; does not exceed the legal maximum axle weight limit of 20,000 pounds; and complies with posted limits on roads and bridges.
