RedTails Volleyball Wins in a Battle Against Iowa Lakes

RedTail Volleyball took on Iowa Lakes Community College on Saturday, October 29, taking the victory 3-0.

A tough first round matchup for the RedTails facing off against the Iowa Lakes Lakers. The first set would be a close one with the RedTails squeaking it out with a 26-24 victory to take the first set. The Lakers battled back and won a close second set with a score of 25-23. The Lakers would continue to take control of the match and win the third set with a score of 25-18. Having their backs against the wall the RedTails fought back and in dramatic fashion would win the fourth set with a score of 27-25. The RedTails would take control early in the fifth set and come back to win 15-6 and win the match 3-2.

Head coach Tyann Wolfensperger had some positive words after the win.

“It was a tough battle with the Lakers,” she said. “They came out ready to play. We had our ups and downs but dominated in the 5th set to come out on top. It was great to see our girls battle in those tight sets.”

The RedTails next matchup will be on the road at Iowa Central Community College on Wednesday, November 2, at 7:00pm. For the Region XI-A Tournament Championship.
