WATERLOO–The RedTail Dance team hosted a dance camp and the Hawkeye Showcase on February 5, 2023, at the HESC.
The dance camp was open for Pre-K through eighth graders and ran from 1:30 to 3:30 pm. The Hawkeye Showcase followed shortly after at 4 pm. Dance teams and soloists from Columbus High School, Hudson High School and Aplington-Parkersburg High School competed at the event.
Head coach Abby Kopriva reflected on the event saying:
“We ended our season with a fantastic dance camp and showcase! Our dance camp had 25 participants ranging from ages 3-12 years old. During our dance camp the dance team taught the group two fun routines that they then performed later that day at our showcase!
This was our first year hosting a dance camp and other teams at our end of the season showcase. We want to thank Columbus High School, Hudson High School and Aplington-Parkersburg High School for coming and performing at our showcase. All the teams and soloists did an amazing job. You could tell everyone in the crowd enjoyed it!
I am so proud of the RedTails dance team for all their hard work this season. The countless early morning practices and weekend competitions. Sad this season is over but can’t wait for the girls returning for next season!”
