MAT-772 Applied Math Test Out on August 11

MAT-772 Applied Math is a course that is required for many programs at Hawkeye. Students in programs that require MAT-772 Applied Math can take the proficiency test to receive full credit for the class and therefore will not need to take the class. Students may take the proficiency test once a semester.

Register

Sign up at the Student Tutoring and Computer Lab in Bremer Hall 127 or call 319-296-4029.

Prepare

Applied Math is a review of basic arithmetic facts. To prepare, review the following concepts to be successful on the test:

  • whole numbers
  • fractions
  • decimals
  • ratio-proportion
  • percents
  • powers
  • roots
  • US and metric measurement
  • graphs
  • averages
  • introduction to algebra
  • introduction to geometry including perimeter, area, volume, angles, and triangles

On the Day of Testing

Students will need to bring the following:

  • Student ID or Government Issued ID
  • #2 pencil
  • Basic calculator. No Scientific calculators are allowed.
