RedTail golfer Austin Reynolds has been named Scheels Male Athlete of the Week for his performances this season after battling an injury.
Austin had a great semester of golf fighting through a wrist injury. He shot a personal best of 68 in round one of our home invitational and followed that up with solid play at the Jim Currel Invite in Ames and then Region Preview at Lake Panorama.
“Austin has worked very hard in his time here and even though he’s had to battle through some injuries he continues to shoot good scores and be a positive role model on the team,” said head coach Micah Destival. “Our last two tournaments were in some nasty weather and he managed to keep it under control and play good golf.”
“This semester has been tough battling an injury and playing in tough conditions but I can see improvements in my game that have helped me shoot some more consistent scores,” said Austin. “I’m proud of our team and all that we accomplished this semester and can’t wait to see what the spring holds.”
