City of Waterloo recently issued the following announcement.
The City of Waterloo is working with Magellan Advisors on development of a Fiber to the Premise network, with the goal of connecting every resident and business across Waterloo with high-speed fiber broadband internet. To help with this effort, we need to collect information concerning internet access, speed availability and reliability across the City of Waterloo.
Residents of Waterloo should receive their postcard inviting them to participate in this survey in mid February. The survey is open through April 1st, 2022.
Please note the following:
- A speed test will be performed during the survey, so we are asking people to complete the survey while directly connected to their home or business network router.
- To not take this survey using a Wi-Fi connection unless that is their only option.
- If possible to take survey the during peak internet use periods in the evening, between 6pm and 9pm.
