Lincoln LaSourd started out like many students: undecided. One Marketing Management class with Mark Ryan, however, helped him make up his mind. “That really just sparked my interest,” he said. Now, Lincoln is preparing to graduate and transfer to UNI, where he already has friends and connections after living in the dorms one year while taking classes at Hawkeye Community College.

His advice for new students: be open and trust the process. “Be open to meeting new people, getting to know your teachers, trying new classes,” he said. “You never know, it might spark something you didn’t even know you had an interest in.”
