Faculty & Staff Art Show: A Community Landscape

Date: Thursday, January 19, 2023

Time: 4:00pm–6:00pm

Location:

Van G. Miller Adult Learning Center

Description:

Join us to wind down the semester, have a cup of holiday cheer, enjoy catering by A Moment In Thyme, and celebrate the creative accomplishments of our colleagues!

A poetry reading by Robin Sprague will take place at 5:00pm.

A Community Landscape features the work of current and former Hawkeye Community College Faculty and Staff: Kim Behm, Jennifer Bates, Ty Bellfy, Doug Benton, Lindsay Buehler, Larry Erickson, Catharine Freeman, Shannon Graham, Dan Jensen, Patrick Malloy, Dan Nierling, Leah Parker, and Robin Sprague.

Inspired by Ben Moore’s Landscapes of the Sublime (Fall ’21) and southwest solitude by Art Holeman (Spring ’22) which bookended the last academic year in Hawkeye Art Gallery.

Whether capturing the beauty of the Southwest or depicting the interior mappings of thought, the word ‘landscape’ can be interpreted in many ways.

This show will be guest curated by Hawkeye Alumnus Mireia Grant (’22) and will include works of art by current and retired Hawkeye faculty and staff.
