City of Waterloo issued the following announcement on Oct. 26.Â
In response to the Coronavirus Pandemic (COVID-19) the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant funded the City of Waterloo Community Development office with a formula allocation from the first round of CDBG-CV funding to be used specifically for the prevention of, preparation for, and response to the Coronavirus. This allocation was authorized by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), Public Law 116-136, which was signed on March 27, 2020.
Waterloo Community Development accepted applications from qualifying local candidates. These approved applications met a National Objective, provided an Eligible Activity, AND have shown that they will prevent, prepare for, or respond to the Coronavirus. The list of approved organizations receiving grant awards are listed below.
A total of $589,782 was available to qualifying projects within the City of Waterloo through the first wave of CDBG-CV funding. Additional applications are still in the evaluation process.
