Ashley Hinson, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Iowa’s 2nd district since 2021, recently posted a series of tweets expressing her positions on border security and former President Donald Trump.

The following day, she shared another post stating, “Slamming the Southern Border shut once and for all. https://t.co/vjrmNUCWBO” on August 26, 2025.
Later that same day, Hinson tweeted in support of the former president: “Americans are safer thanks to President Trump. https://t.co/zwluulIQfn”.
Ashley Hinson has served as a member of the U.S. Congress since defeating Abby Finkenauer in 2021. Prior to her time in Congress, she represented her community in the Iowa House of Representatives from 2017 to 2021. Born in Des Moines in 1983 and currently residing in Marion, Hinson is an alumna of the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts degree completed in 2004.
