Ashley Hinson, a U.S. Congresswoman representing Iowa’s 2nd district, posted several messages on October 6, 2025, addressing breast cancer awareness, the ongoing government shutdown’s impact on federal food assistance programs, and allegations regarding FBI surveillance of Republican lawmakers.
In her first post of the day, Hinson highlighted the importance of early breast cancer detection. On October 6, 2025, she wrote: “This #MammographyMonday, I want to remind everyone just how important it is to get screened for breast cancer. Over 300,000 people were diagnosed last year alone.Â

Later that afternoon, Hinson commented on the effects of what she referred to as the “Schumer Shutdown.” She stated on October 6, 2025: “Day six of the Schumer Shutdown.
