Ashley Hinson, U.S. Congresswoman representing Iowa’s 2nd district since 2021, shared updates on her official Twitter account about recent events involving military families, veterans, and Iowa farmers.
On April 9, 2026, Hinson posted about a homecoming event for the 2nd Brigade Combat Team: “Yesterday’s welcome home for the 2nd Brigade Combat Team was incredibly special. Tears, hugs, and a whole lot of pride—these families have carried so much as they waited for their loved ones to return. So thankful they’re together again. Matt and I pray for a smooth transition”.
Two days later, on April 11, she highlighted her team’s participation in a local veterans’ event: “My team attended the fourth annual Veterans Appreciation Dinner, hosted by the Becker-Chapman American Legion Post in Waterloo. Thanks to the Rotary Club for putting on such a great event, and to everyone who came out. We are forever indebted to our military heroes for their”.
Later that same day, Hinson addressed economic challenges facing Iowa farmers: “Iowa farmers continue to be squeezed by high input costs. I’ll continue working with @POTUS and my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to promote price transparency and lower fertilizer costs for our producers.”
Hinson has represented Iowa’s 2nd District in Congress since replacing Abby Finkenauer in 2021 and previously served in the Iowa House of Representatives from 2017 to 2021. Born in Des Moines in 1983 and currently residing in Marion, she graduated from the University of Southern California with a BA in 2004.
