On September 15, 2025, Hinson posted about new legislation focused on the trucking industry: “NEW: Truckers keep America moving and deliver for us each and every day—but bad actors are blatantly exploiting them for payouts. This legal abuse is dangerous and wrong. My new bill puts safety and fairness first—deterring staged collisions, protecting jobs and small businesses,” she wrote.

Ashley Hinson has represented Iowa’s 2nd district in Congress since 2021 after previously serving in the Iowa House of Representatives from 2017 to 2021. She was born in Des Moines in 1983 and currently resides in Marion. Hinson earned her BA from the University of Southern California in 2004.
