Ashley Hinson, U.S. Congresswoman representing Iowa’s 2nd district, posted several updates on her official Twitter account between April 17 and April 18, 2026, addressing issues relevant to Iowa farmers and local residents.
On April 17, Hinson highlighted the importance of local Farm Service Agency (FSA) offices in connecting farmers with federal programs. She wrote, “Local FSA offices play a vital role to connect farmers with federal programs, and we can all agree that customer service should be a top priority. Glad to see @USDA taking steps to improve response times at local offices. I’ll keep working to ensure Iowa farmers have the support”.
Later that day, she warned constituents about severe weather conditions expected in her district and nearby counties: “Our district & neighboring counties could potentially face dangerous weather conditions this afternoon and evening. Please monitor local warnings closely and take steps to stay safe.”
On April 18, Hinson shared details of a recent meeting with representatives from Iowa Pork in Washington D.C., stating: “It was great meeting with @IowaPork in my D.C. office earlier this week! Always great to catch up with them. I will continue fighting to end radical mandates, like Prop 12, that hurt both our producers and consumers and deliver the support they need.”
Ashley Hinson has served as the representative for Iowa’s 2nd congressional district since replacing Abby Finkenauer in 2021. Before her tenure in Congress, she was a member of the Iowa House of Representatives from 2017 to 2021. Born in Des Moines in 1983 and currently residing in Marion, Hinson graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2004.
